No one has more impact on a child than a parent. And no one knows what a child needs more than a parent. When it comes to finding ways to meet those needs, parents provide a real world perspective on what programs really work for both their children and for themselves. Their input is based on experience. Therefore, the Great Start initiative involves the formation of a Parent Coalition.
- Serve as a voice for parents in their community
- Assist in building public support for early childhood as an investment
- Support and participate in the assessment and strategic planning work of the Great Start Collaborative
- Strengthen the commitment of parents in the community, on behalf of young children
